This school year has been the time for plenty of new beginnings. I started middle school and for the first time ever I am going to a different school than my brother! However, with all beginnings there is always an end, and when that end comes you must learn to move on. With the beginning of this academic year I feel like a chapter of my life has been closed and a new one has been opened. I for one intend to embark on this journey of change with enthusiasm, for I intend to move on.
At the end of the last academic year one of my closest friends had to leave school and move to a different country. At the time, it felt like the world was coming to an end, but looking back, I can see that it isn’t! When someone close to you goes away, the best thing that you can do is find a way to keep in touch, accept the change in your life and know things will be different going forward. So you need to keep trying to learn and to find new people. After all, I can still keep in touch with my friend online and I am sure we will continue to be friends in the future. The best way to move forward and embrace change is to be positive and enjoy whatever comes next. You never know, I might make another wonderful friend this year!
As someone who has already had a fair few experiences of moving, and therefore, of moving on, I can tell you that it is not an easy feat. In the past 5 years, I have moved across 3 countries and changed so many schools! For me moving on is like letting go of a way of living, so easy for someone to say but not so easy to actually accomplish. My brother also started in another different school this year. I feel like if I am starting a new chapter of my life, he is starting a whole new book. His new school provides a whole new environment which will obviously take a little while to adapt to.
On the whole, I feel like moving on is something to embrace instead of fear. There will always be examples of times where a person will need to move forward, the trick is to stay in the moment and not get stuck in the past. Stop reminiscing about the past, I think that it’s time to embrace the future, it’s time to move on.

Wonderful blog! I love how you described the concept of change. It’s not always easy, but we we can choose to look on the positive side.

It is a powerful lesson! ‘ The best way to move forward and embrace change is to be positive and enjoy whatever comes next.’ Well said!
